The year is 2018 and a rogue Russian general has turned part of Chechnya into his own smuggler's paradise. The Russian government is either unable or unwilling to stop him. When evidence surfaced that he was attempting to sell old Soviet tactical nuclear weapons, a NATO special forces attack was launched. You spawn in your parachute coming in for a hard and fast landing with a mission to secure the nukes and eliminate the general's forces.
DESCRIPTION: This is a small supply station on both banks of a river. There are five main buildings: Lighthouse, Warehouse, Residence, storage shed and Mess Hall. The river itself is deep and contains secrets and goodies including swimming fish. The atmosphere is foggy and stormy. All trees are climbable. There are many tunnels that criss-cross the terrain. The cannons are jump-pads and there are 2 jump-pads on the roof of the warehouse. There are three vehicles that you can drive: A futuristic jet fighter, a self-propelled rocket launcher, and a leaky barge (air, land, and water). Be careful when running around because the general has scattered landmines around his base (hit one and instantly die).
TECHNICAL: I built this map on the geography created by A1armedassailant in his proof of concept map for the swimming fish. The general geography and the wonderful fish are his. Any blame for the rest lays with me. The landmines were created by linking a door switch to a continuous damage event to a keyframe with sound effect. I believe this is the first map to contain such a combination. There are numerous player triggered sounds as well as timed ambient sounds to enhance the feeling of battle. I used the Stormy Mountains Skybox by DVL_IAC. Just for fun, I have thrown in a hidden teleport switch.
