STORY:
This map is a sequel to DM-TELEPORT. The miners won the battle for the space station containing the Kiliad Teleport Device but Ultor troops managed to retreat to the spaceport on Venus with a copy of the plans for the device. Here on Venus, Ultor scientists have been experimenting with the teleport device trying to increase its effective distance and weaponize it. Prototypes of both exist in this map including a teleport projector cannon. Eos has dispatched her best troops to seize the spaceport before the Ultor scientists can perfect the weapons which might enable them to re-capture Mars.
MAP DESCRIPTION:
The map takes place in a working spaceport on the planet Venus. Venus has a thick poisonous atmosphere of carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid. The atmospheric pressure on Venus (90 times that of Earth) makes it difficult to view objects at a distance and that is replicated here in the map experience (far away items will wink in and out of view). The atmospheric pressure and vaporized sulfuric acid will kill any player "outside" who loses his/her envirosuit within 45 seconds unless the player finds a suit repair.
There are four ground vehicles that players can ride around in (two Armored Personnel Carriers and two Self-Propelled Rocket Launchers). There are two spaceships that players can fly around the map (a small Scout-Fighter and a large Destroyer). There are four working teleport switches (one in each main underground section and two hidden elsewhere in the map). This is a large map but there are insta-transit tubes connecting each section and plenty of jump-pads. Sniping opportunities are abundant but there will be room to room fighting in the main complexes. There are 34 spawn points and everyone spawns with armor and weapons. The map has player triggered sound effects and timed ambient sounds to help create the experience of battle in a spaceport.
