This level always seemed to have an allure, but it never took off due to one major problem: it crashed far too easily. That has now been fixed. Many other adjustments have been made to expand the potential of this map and address the spawnkilling and rail camping issues that made it a turn-off to players and server owners alike.
Changes:
1) Geo: Instead of geo being enabled over all of the map, it's now all disabled, except for one spot.
2) Spawning: Four of the worst spawn points that made spawnkilling such a problem have been eliminated. Two of them were on the dock/bridge and two were on the big island. To further improve on this, four spawn points have been added. Two are in the huts on the big island and two are on the small island, protected from most of the vantage points on the map.
3) Weapons: The HMG's in the huts have been replaced by sniper rifles. One HMG has been added, so feel free to grab it. Two fusions have been added, one of which is very difficult to get. The other is on the bowsprit of the ship (yeah, I had to look that up), which finally gives players a valid reason to run out on it. Beware though, an audio alarm will give you away!
4) Destination Spots and Movement:
a) Two sniper rifle positions have been added. One is near the big island, and one near the small island. Run around long enough, and you'll figure out how to get to them.
b) Two methods have been added to allow players to reach the crow's nest on the ship. One is a launch point and one is a climb point. Before, the only way to get there was to get lucky enough to spawn there.
c) When you find the only geo spot on the map, you'll understand why it's there. The lighthouse sniper position needed a weakness.
d) One teleport has been added. It won't take long to find it.
e) Another entry point onto the ship has been created. If you've played this map before, then you've probably already tried it and found that it didn't work. Try it again. ;)
5) Amps: Eliminated. So no, you can no longer grab a rail and jump in the middle of the fire where the damage and invulnerability amps were and just sit there and rail camp with impunity. You can still jump in the fire and hide, but you're gonna feel it this time.
Additional notes: Aside from the obvious need to fix the crashing problem, many of these changes were made to equalize the gameplay of the map where difficult-to-access sniping positions were concerned. It's all about keeping players IN the game and not letting them quit due to frustration.
