Coffee Break (dm14) is pretty much universally panned as the worst of Red Faction's default DM maps. I agree - Coffee Break is awful. That said, call me crazy, but for some reason I've always liked it.

Barista's Redemption is an overhaul of Coffee Break which fixes the specific issues I had with the map while retaining the "look and feel" of the original. I won't promise this is the best map out there - it's definitely not. I will however promise that it'll play better than the original. I know I'm not doing the best job of selling the map, but hey - you'll form your own conclusions when you play it anyway.

Here's a full listing of the notable changes between Coffee Break and Barista's Redemption:
- Added two additional upper sections with corresponding spiral hallways
- Added 4 doorways in/out of main area
- Added secret upper area (for rail)
- Threw out old item and respawn point layout and remade from scratch, adding many more spawn points and plenty of weapons, ammo, health, and armour
- Totally revamped approach to geo. Everything is destructible aside from the floor on the bottom level and in the spiral hallways
- Fixed numerous issues where you could sit behind one-way detail geometry and mow down enemies
- Fixed ugly overbright lighting
- Fixed numerous texture warping issues
- Fixed numerous portaling issues
- Fixed minor texture alignment issues
- Reduced level hardness to 50
- Fixed music (you can mute it in audio settings if you don't want it)
- Added custom high poly posh admin light meshes
- Removed some cutscene cameras
- Applied lighting trick

Adding the doorways and the extra sniper's nests opens the map up so much more. The changes in the lighting, the decals and the music adds a much needed ambiance to the map. As for the changes with the geo, while it's a pity that I can't burrow under the floor and troll people with rail anymore, I do still like the changes. It feels like geo is placed where it's necessary. Very small changes overall, but a much more cohesive map now.

A bitter cup of sadness and disappointment. This more like gas station coffee that is surprisingly alright, and even enjoyable, on a cold winter's night.
