This is a remake of Doom 2, level 2 - Underhalls. The whole thing was originally made from scratch by eye, so it's not perfectly identical and scale isn't 1:1, but it's fairly close.
I originally made this map in 2006, but decided it's time to add some modern enhancements and fix a few things.

Changes for Version 1.1:
- Changed the teleporter in the secret area, from being a series of push regions the player could sometimes get stuck in, to an actual teleporter and added the original doom teleport effect sprite.
- Added a sound and message when you first enter the secret area.
- Linked the moving walls to clutter destruction and set the triggers to only be able to be activated once, so everything stays in sync for late joiners.
- Changed the music to the modern remix included with the 2024 DOOM + DOOM II Remaster, and after that a high quality recording of the original midi, that also comes with the remaster.
- Changed the music from Ambient Sound to Music_Start event, so the volume can be controlled.
- Added some more details.
- Added 3D versions of all the exploding barrels placed in the same positions as the original Doom map. Made them explosive, do geomod and able to kill a player that is near one, if they don't have full armor, when it explodes.
- Re did most of the lighting. I decided to stray away from the original Doom look that had almost no lights. I added a lot more lights, for a nicer look.
- Added invisible ramps to all stairs, to make movement smoother.
- Made all the regular doors automatic instead of use key activated.
- Made the exit button teleport the player back to the start instead of just being a dead end.
- Most of the map is geoable, so I made most of the floors no geo/shallow geo, so people don't get stuck in geo craters.
- Added more items.
- Added more respawn points.
- Changed the fog colour from light grey to dark grey with a slight green tinge.
- Upped the ambient light level, so it's not too dark with full range lighting turned on.
- Added light glares to all the texture lights, to make them look a little more real.
- Added material prefixes to all the textures, so they have the correct properties.
- Fixed some poorly aligned geometry.
- Added portals and other performance optimizations.
- Adjusted some textures.
- Converted all the textures to DDS for smaller file size.
- Probably a few other things I'm forgetting.
- As a bonus for Alpine users, The models for Super Armor, Super Health, Invulnerability, Damage Amp, Suit Repair, Medical Kit, and Miner Envirosuit, will be replaced with 3D versions of their Doom counterparts.

Bugs:
- If you have your music volume setting turned all the way down before loading the map, the music won't play, even if you turn the setting back up after loading the map. It needs to have some volume prior to loading for the intro music to work.
