Can someone tell me why I'm lagging on Red Faction and how I can fix it

Are you currently running PF.exe in compatibility mode?

My CPU type AMD FX (tm)-8350
CPU Speed 4016 MHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650

compatible mode?

I have windows 7 premier

What type of lag? Frame lag, connection lag? I'm assuming its frame lack or some other whacked out graphical problem.

Put pf launcher into Windows 98 compatibility mode.

To do this, right click on pflauncher.exe then open properties. At the top of the properties window click the compatibity tab. Check enable Compatibility Mode. The. In the drop box, select windows 98.

A "friend of FF" was having this issue for a while. Cleared up before we really had a chance to troubleshoot. Looked exactly the same though

Lolwut ? You were the one teleporting around in Cobra a while ago. And Saint actually talked with DiscoDuck regarding to his speeding connection issues rather than lags. After a speedtest that Saint had , it was actually pretty good with less chances of lag that beated my connection and Duck's too :3 This gotta be rather a gaming compatibility lag than connection issues, if he didn't had red pc's with X logo after watching that vid.

The internet is complicated, a speed test is basically meaningless

Haze I didn't win every game, Well it looks like I'm set with the lagging Thanks for the info Digi, But now I have another problem with my mouse, It's going crazy, moves by its self, hesitates then moves quick and moving side to side and suggestions? Thank You

Try going into the PF F1 menu and turning on DirectInput

Don't bother him, he just loves to troll around and blaming my english as a stupid excuse. However that also happens when you raise up your mouse away from its mousepad in mid air. Either buy a new mouse or direct-input. :S

Well i don't remember him lagging alot before and winning almost every game becuz of that, how come it happens alot worse for him now than before ? Shouldn't change anything on compatibility mode, since PF supports Win7.

Probably want to grab all the current Win7 updates. They've mixed in some timing patches over the years. And try turning off "threaded optimization" in the Nvidia control panel (for PF.exe only--unless all you play is RF). Update drivers, blah blah.

Oh, you're that smart arse that runs the cobra server, right?, It's not hard to be nice and to help people man, but instead you treat people like they are idiots! I am an old school player that just reinstalled the game.

Pure Faction wasn't around back when I last played, so I was learning the functions and all you did was call me a dumb c@#t and that I should change my name because I'm a noob and so forth.
