Distributing pirate copies of the game in downloadable links isn't allowed here. The game is $5 on Steam. Buy it instead ~digi

The official Mac version of RF doesn't work on Intel Macs (so basically anything made after 2006)
If you want to run RF on a mac your best bet is a windows virtual machine or dualboot using boot camp. You might get it working in wine also but a VM would probably be easier.
Also the Steam version of RF is not directly compatible with macs at all. You would have to VM it or dualboot just like the retail version

I have a macbook pro 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7. Are you sure it won't run on Intel Mac?

Well in that case, it would've been better if you were a Windows user instead. :3

I'm getting the directs 8 message. Purefaction didn't fix it. Any other suggestions?
I'm running RF on a inter mac via Virtual PC.
Thanks,

You need to install the purefaction beta on the site, that fixes direct x error

You also may need to run the game in windowed or stretched mode, as opposed to full screen.

make sure 3D support is enabled for the VM

just looked and apparently Virtual PC doesn't support 3D. I use Parallels Desktop with acceptable results. vmware also makes something, forget the name though
There is Virtualbox for mac too, forgot that. It's free

I'm using XP on virtual box. Stretch mode or windowed mode still doesn't work. I also installed pure faction 3.0.
Do you have the download link to PF beta?
Thanks for the help.

Beta download is right on the PF page
What kind of window type are you using for the VM? Fullscreen? Windowed? Some kind of "coherence/unity" thing? (dunno if virtualbox offers that)
