I managed to get the discs for the French version of RF (from Quebec, the #1 French speaking region on the planet). I have tried some free software online that is meant to let you create ISO files of discs. Each time I try to create an ISO, I get some error. I did this on a different persons' computer, as my laptop lacks a CD drive.

Anyone have any idea on what I need to do to create ISO files for these discs? Is there a special program required?

Tried imgburn and it went a lot further then the other programs I tried. It would not let me make an ISO but I tried creating a .bin file and a .img file and both made it to 82% until I got an error which was, "Unrecovered read error." I wonder if this could be fixed by slowing down the rate at which it creates the iso/img/bin.

I am going to try MagicISO later.

I tried to create .bin/cue, ISO, and UIF with MagicISO and it did not work. The ISO format stopped at 41% and the .bin/cue + UIF both stopped at 82% I was going to try extracting the files from the disc into a folder and then making an ISO, but Windows was not able to extract all the files without freezing.

If I figure out how to make a back up image copy I will post again later in this thread.

I made another attempt at extracting the data using a special program called IsoBuster (recommended by Helen KIller/HK). It did not work. It stops at 82%

didn't make an iso, but was able to install it using an external cd/dvd drive, which was my real goal/intention all along

now that I installed it, it says it is the 1.00 French Ver of RF. I was able to find a 1.20_french updater online. I was able to get dash faction to work with it. Ofcourse, after applying the patch I still had to install the North American 1.2 file, but the patch was for all the .vpps/.tbl files which were updated to French 1.2.

link for the file that updates 1.00 French rf to 1.20 French RF:
