FactionFiles Community Discord.
We've made some changes to how file ratings and reviews work on Faction Files today. The existing star-based rating system has been replaced with simplified
Not Recommended / Neutral / Recommended ratings, and all existing ratings have been converted to this new format.
We've also coupled ratings to reviews, so from this point forward, all new ratings will have accompanying reviews and vice versa.
Our goal with these changes is to make feedback provided by the community though ratings and reviews more valuable to creators. In accordance with this, we've included some guidelines on the review page to help make your feedback as useful to creators as possible. We encourage you to check it out, and as always please consider reviewing files you've downloaded.
You are also now able to edit reviews and their attached ratings, so if your feelings have changed about something you reviewed in the past, you can now update your thoughts.
In other news, we've made some backend changes on FF. The way files are served has been updated to add support for resuming downloads, and some users may also see increased download speeds. These changes should help those with flaky internet connections and anyone using a download manager. This applies to downloads via the FF website and SyncFaction API - we'll roll this out to the Dash Faction auto-downloader API after further testing.
The maximum file upload size has also been increased to 5GB.
